RDG's engineering approach to river restoration incorporates natural channel design principles, bioengineering techniques and traditional river engineering methods. Capitalizing on innovative technology and experience, RDG's design process yields final products that incorporate criteria developed by RDG's multi-disciplinary staff. Modeling efforts are an important component of RDG's design process. Engineering models that simulate hydraulic characteristics, floodplain function and sediment transport capacity are used to evaluate channel stability and develop restoration design criteria. RDG's construction plan sets provide contractors with specific instructions and guidelines for cost-effective implementation of restoration projects within the framework of permit requirements. RDG's engineering staff is currently licensed to practice Engineering in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, California, Utah and Nevada.
